Most people know BS when they see it.

Perhaps, but many around here also wouldn't recognize a better system if they stepped on it like a rake ... 1645492932231.png ... it can make 1+ 1 = 5

In your area (Michigan) it probably would be impossible to do what he is doing ... but there are areas of CA where, due to population density, weather, roads and demographics ... it just might be .... just saying .... 1645493058407.png

Not many folks know the origin of this saying. I am informed that the saying comes from an old pilot saying where the PIC (pilot in command) would turn onto the runway after having taken it active, then pushes all the 'sticks' (throttle/mix) to the dash. The sticks would often have balls or knobs on the end, hence the term 'balls to the wall' on takeoff.

Lol. If you think so. Imagine a company that owns a great share of a neighborhood.. They rent it out to their executives. Now imagine they are doing an internal audit of their assets. Now imagine taking a street photo and subject front of each house. Half of them I appraised in the past. Now, imagine a major national builder doing a 20k build out over 15 years. Lol. Imagine, doing multiples of the same plans over and over again. Pretty cool huh? Now imagine working closely with a top originator in the country. Now imagine a network of over 250 realtors giving you private deal referrals. I know I have a huge imagination. Some days, I wish all the imaginations would just go away. But then reality hits.

Be careful you don't get burned out. A system like you describe can only function if you never take time off, or if you have capable people to run it while you are on vacation. And a vacation eventually becomes a matter of your health. Then you can come back refreshed and go 'at em. ;)

Yes you are right. My prior vacations were all 3 weeks long but I would still have my laptop with me. I plan to downsize next year. I'm sending two appraisers out to do their own thing and giving some clients to them. Then it's just me, my wife and one guy. I'm thinking of calling it TriFecta Appraisals. I will eventually just handle my builder client and the lender that I work closely with but take a little less volume. I can still do 15 a week myself. Then take 4 week vacations per year.

Beat me to it, learned that when I read the Right Stuff. Most people envision something else entirely.
Haha! Yep - I learned it during my student training w/this old geezer (of which I am now) who could fly just about anything with wings. First time he said it, I had no idea what he was talking about...

This new ANSI thing has exhausted me. Fannie needs to be clearer with below grade and still trying to get use to measuring to 1/10th foot.
Recent appraisal required new comments on ANSI. Exhausted me. I'll take one more assignment and then need a quick staycation next week to refresh.
Think of staying in Sacramento near State Capitol. Weather should be nice in 80s. Hang around in hotel pool. Maybe lucky and see Gov Newsom.

haven't heard MrLa for a while. did blm burn down la? maybe it was a fbi raid.

Just busy. Completed 85 appraisals so far this month. Averaging 100 a month. 2 of my guys passed the state test and are licensed now. I have one last trainee studying for his certification. We are going strong. Builder and private appraisals are strong. Teamed up with an AG to do commercial appraisals. Got 6 apartment narratives to do! Let's go!

MrLa, keep pushing and earning that income. my ss income appreciates it while i still am doing appraisals.
