National Appraiser Boycott

Social Media clicks come from viewers looking to be titillated by something that's getting their need for thrills or emotions.

Appraisers issues unfortunately don't into that equation and even local media has no interest nor do it's viewers.

so you have to sign a nda...not to sell copyright material go gas light the unknowing :rof:

Not much anyone can do with a manipulated market. When you choose to fly solo, you get the short end of the stick. Everytime. Without exceptions. Is what it is at this point.

It’s not the local self employed independent appraiser driving fees. It’s the staff at the mills and AMCs. They are told what to do and how much they will be paid to do it. I know a guy that ran a forsythe office back in the day, he was told by the chief appraiser that he must accept every AMC job that he sees for any fee they send it over at. Then he must tell his appraisers to do it.

Only gotten worse now that AMCs have magically turned into appraisal companies.

sounds like the main street media...blah blah blah conspiracy theory...which one hasn't come true 15th st traitors :rof:

I'm in the 4000ish area of the petition. I think...it's been a while...and it's my real name.

Americans are such puss*es.... independent European appraisers would have thrown molotov cocktails at the AMC headquarters by now and had the W-2 appraisers scrambling like ants....

Give it a rest. The agreement was to not mischaracterize the content of USPAP and to not plagarize or resell their copyrighted materials including the content and instruction. Had nothing to do with some allegedly secret intelligence about the structure and operations of TAF. No secrecy involved. I wouldn't even call it an NDA when considering there's no limitation on "disclosure" beyond the agreement to not steal intellectual property rights from TAF.

I realize that this is a big intellectual ask, but consider the nature of your allegation: if TAF has dark secrets that they want to keep from the appraisers then of what benefit would it be to share those secrets with (by now) thousands of instructors? What can the instructors possibly do on the down-low for TAF other than to instruct per the content of the course materials.

There's no such thing as a secret in 2026. If TAF had been sharing secrets with thousands of current/former instructors over the last 25 years then why haven't some of them broken ranks for personal gain? Why aren't any of them validating any of your conspiracy theories? We have several people on this forum who are or were certified instructors. Why is it that none of them ever disagree with each other when it comes to the content, meaning and application of the material or how TAF operates? By comparison, the Appraisal Institute has all sorts of internal politics in play at any given time, all or almost all about individuals operating for personal gain.
@Francois K. Gregoire has told me he thinks commingling of fees is wrong. At least one TAF member agrees with me.

Like the meme of george washington coming back, looking around, and wondering why we haven't started stacking bodies yet :rof:

If old George had been an appraiser, I think that's what he would be asking himself :rof:

imagine if you will it is 2009...and they think letting the mortgage brokers estimate value via waiver is no big deal :rof:
