Typically the small AMC shops offer 80% to 90% of the fee to the appraiser. It is a method to turn that one-hit-wonder into a regular client, you merely say you can do appraisals all over the country and then do the work to find them as they are needed.
It is a great way to reduce your business from appraisal work to phone monkey. :new_all_coholic:

This has to be one of the funniest threads ever. Anybody who spells software....soft where needs help.....wowowo I can only imagine the quality of the reports!
 
You Actually Don't Need Any Software To Become An AMC. Just Start Getting Appraisal Orders, Then Find Poople To Do Them For Reduced Fees, It's That Simple.

Forgot, Make Sure To Toss Ethics, Honesty and Competency Aside, Those Will Hamper Your Efforts In Being Succesfull As An AMC.

You are getting pretty beat up on here and I agree it's not fair. I think a good AMC would get orders for the Appraiser (At no, or very little reduced charge) and give them something back, like a website and reviewing. The biggest problem I..and I think all of these people have with AMC's is that they typically charge 450 or so, for a full appraisal and pay the appraiser 250. That, I believe is a rip-off. I think for example a 350 charge..or therabouts and 10-15% charge for certain services is fair (like advertising, or appraisal reviewing.)

Good luck with your AMC! I personally would rather travel to Beijing and eat a fried rat than to work for an AMC. I figure that I can survive without an AMC. Can an AMC survive without an appraiser?
