Heads UP!
From an AI e-mail today
TO ALL FLORIDA APPRAISERS
REMINDER: Have you registered the firm or business name of the company where you work and the physical location? Chapter 475.623, F. S. requires ALL Florida appraisers to do so. Effective November 25, 2007, Chapter 61J1-8.001(2) (a) (9), FAC provides for a $500 citation for failure to register. Registration may be completed by use of DRE Form 2065. This registration must be completed by July 1, 2008.
FYI: Below is a response from Beverly Ridenauer, Government Analyst II, Division of RE Section, on if you can verify if you have turned in Form 2065:
"At this moment, they cannot verify that the firm name has been registered, only the address. It will show on the Portal as "LL" or License Location. If the address that shows is not that of the office location, please tell them to send the form (fax or mail) so we can get it entered."
"In addition, we are working on making the Firm Name/Address accessible to appraiser licensees (similar to what brokers can do to add or delete names from the real estate companies). We hope to have all of that in place by renewal time."
