any reason the display is so narrow now? better yet any way to fix it? i have a 24" monitor and i have about 4" on either side that does nothing with the posts smashed in the middle.

Try it now.
 
I just added a "whats' new" button. I think it will show all recent posts without regard to having read them or not please test it for me.
"What's new" works great and brings up all recent posts after marking forums read, just as before.

i seem to be having problems with the new layout marking threads appropriately. for example i have viewed all the postings as of now in the G,B&U forum yet when i go into it all threads are displaying in bold as if i haven't read any of the messages. this is happening in all forums for me.
 
One thing I notice (could be my computer/user error) is that the tool bar menu is not working. Bold, Underline, Color, Font size, etc

I think I have fixed this. Please test it now.

So it must be your browser settings.

Change is good, however the new display is much harder on the eyes. Kinda like when you go to the eye doctor and he says is it better here or here as he flips the little lenses on the machine. definitely the first one is better. MHO
