Change is good, however the new display is much harder on the eyes. Kinda like when you go to the eye doctor and he says is it better here or here as he flips the little lenses on the machine. definitely the first one is better. MHO
In what way is it harder on your eyes? The colors are basically the same as the old forum.

When you click the "new posts" button, there is a black bar above the new posts that says "show only unread". If you click on it, it will remove the "show only unread" filter and and show all recent posts.
:)

Obvervation. Individual members “likes” rankings seems to have gone missing and I wonder why?

Seems to me that list would be / is a testimonial to participation and an encouragement or incentive for more members to participate more often.

Its not nearly as clear and crisp. Almost like the type is several shades toward gray versus black.

Click the member's icon and it will show "reaction score". That is the same as "likes" from the old forum.

If you say so. I guess I better go get my eyes checked, I must be going blind.:eyecrazy:

When I first saw the new display, I thought I was just done because it was painful to try to read. It can't be work because we already spend so much time on screens. Then, in response to Tres, the view was expanded and it was better. I could never look at it on a cell, which is good for everyone since I would probably post in the wrong thread (astigmatism is a prankster). Now, across my larger screen it is readable, but there is still something that makes it hard work. I can't quite tell, maybe needs more bold! Or cowbell.

As for the Likes, well, stowing it like this is an improvement. I came back after a couple years to find the Like plan fully in play and it was weird, though interesting to think about in terms of interpersonal dynamics. I disagree that conspicuous Like tallies encourage participation, except among a few. Many more posters probably have something to say but may not engage because of the high like counts of others already in the thread. Likes often simply reflect popularity among the poster's generous cohort. Friends/allies voting together. Mostly, I find it acts as a substitute for writing an actual reply, which would be participation. So to encourage participation from more people, please keep it like this, discoverable, but down a few levels.

Although not "black/white" colorblind ... I guess being colorblind (I am) has its advantages

At HS ... I'm usually not a fan of change but I'm getting used to it quickly

It would be nice to have a 'dark' mode, imo.

What is the difference between "What's new" and "New posts?" Seems redundant, but maybe I am missing something?
