Sounds like fun! Today I finished a multi-unit REO in Glendale and then WHAM! 3 CANCELLATIONS!!!!! ARRRGGGHHHHHH (and two moronic comp check requests from parts unknown!) full day 4 me...

This new MLS is "realtor friendly" and "appraiser angst-ridden"

I'll agree with that. I am getting ready to call and talk to them about what we can do to improve the situation. I've been analyzing and documenting. One of my favorite MLS things used to take 2 clicks and now takes 10. It literally takes 5 times as long. I timed a few versions. What I can do in the old MLS in 5 minutes takes 27 minutes in the new. Assuming I perform that process maybe 10 times a day (sometimes more, sometimes less) my MLS time has gone from under 1 hour per day to almost 5 hours. I am very unhppy.

And some of the stuff is just stupid. Like sorting the results by status alphabetically (active - closed - expired - pending) instead of by status logically (active - pending - closed - expired).

I think the MLS has changed three or more times since 1993. Each time its pretty much the same old crapola. I'm with you, for now, but every other time I get past the curve and figure out a way around the drudgery.
I am ****ed that they had the gall to double the rate though.
I also use a different system in NE AZ and between the two, the one up north is pretty limited.
Face it. These things are set up for Realtors, not appraisers.

Just logged onto Flex for the first time last night after realizing they arent updating the old system anymore....um yeah...no one likes change but its pretty frustrating. There is some cool stuff/graphs that are easy. But I like to throw in mean values, DOM and current inventory(listings/sales). It takes a couple different places to do it now whereas b4 it was a minute or two and you could summarize...arghh...

At 11:02 this morning I hit the enter key to do an address search in new flexmls. Yup - just look up an address to see if it was ever listed in MLS - and it took a full 8 minutes, until 11:10 am to tell me there were no listings for this address. That is simply pitiful. I am going to be mighty unhappy when the old system goes away at the end of the month.

Hows everyone doing with the new MLS ? I discovered something while researching an assignment. When doing an address search for prior listings, I had a rental listing pop up from last year along with the current pending listing. I was surprised and I don't think that would have popped up without specifically looking under the residential rental tab on the "old" system.

wow...one saving grace....arrrgh

Appraizin-I agree with you it is angst ridden but I am just kinda overlooking all the "fluff" on the system. Maybe us forumites could get together somewhere and help each other out with this.

I'm in FULL AGREEMENT!! Anyone want to meet with laptops and legal pads??? Exchange angst, I mean ideas and perhaps we can find our way out of this maze!!! If we can get several of us, it would be GREAT, not only the MLS but ideas as well?
