Jeff,

Very good newsletter. But...I did not see your company address/fax/phone anywhere in the newsletter, just your web site. You might want to keep your phone #, etc. in plain sight for easy access.

I like your title "The Bottom Line", even though my own bottom line has gotten bigger the last few years...too many hours at the computer and not enough working out.

Great job Jeff!!!

Do add your phone and fax numbers - and prominantly!
 I wonder how many times I have looked at that and not noticed?

Jeff,
There are no stupid questions, only stupid people who don't ask. I guess that includes all us guys that don't ask for directions when we are looking for the subject property or a comp. I taught a four hour course a couple of years ago and one of my students did a newsletter in Virginia. He simply disperssed his newsletter to Realtor's offices and they were so glad when he walked in with them. I added it to my class because it was so useful to the Realtors...I also think you should add the lenders and mortgage brokers to your drop off points...Keep trying, you will be a success and have more work than you can do if you don't already. I also recommend joining an appraisers web site. The only one I use is appraisers.com, check out my ad in eastern north carolina. I have a toll free number and accept visa and mc and it really works.. I get tons of calls each week.

I have just returned from a three day marketing seminar with some of the best in the industry. I can tell you without a doubt that given the amount of email today Snail Mail wins out. Just make it personal and use a live stamp. Do not use a mailing label or use a self mailer. Best of luck.

Thanks Phill, this was a rather old post and was surprised to see it pop back up.

But I have been mailing it, multiple copies to each office in the area. To expensive to mail one direct to each agent. Decided email was cheap but it would not be passed around or lay on a desk for others to see.

Impressive newsletter Pat.

Call me a new age marketer but I feel that the most effective way for delivering newsletters is via email. Firstly, it is the cheapest way to go. Postcards are very effective but of course more expensive.

If a newsletter is well written, informative and keeps on topic most readers will open the newsletter and read it. Of course, when using email as a means of delivering your newsletter is it important that you keep on schedule. For example, get your subscribers used to receiving the newsletter every other Tuesday, once a month on the same day or once a week on the same day. I myself subscribe to many newsletters and open them as soon as I see them.

There are many services available on the Internet that will allow you to send an email newsletter in both plain text and html and are very affordable. If a particular edition of the newsletter is informative and helpful many people will print it out.

I feel the biggest benefit of providing newsletter via email is the ability to have subscribers stop receiving the newsletter if they choose to. Sending out newsletters via snail mail is effective, of course, but if you have individuals who are no longer interested in your newsletter you may wind up spending money for postage and printing for people who are just throwing them out.

Jeff

I would like to see za copy of your newletter as I have been considering creating a newletter for my local market for over a year now.

Thanks

Bryan
