Why? I think it's best he grow a thicker skin. This is a "full contact" forum, and we get bored.
Some people don't have time for nonsense. "Nonsense" being defined as NOT accomplishing something useful for the time spent. Well that may or may not be true. If you have nothing else to do except get old, then being on the forum and participating in the BS, excercises your writing skills - and there is something good to say about that.
"We get bored" I take as proof that I am right, i.e. correct, the BS is just an end in itself for some. For others, it's an excuse to exercise their writing skills and nothing more. And yet others don't have the time, but by their very nature don't like untruths to go unanswered.
Option A (most popular it appears): Stay on the forum as a silent member, i.e., never post. Put members on ignore whose posts are usually uninteresting. You see only the interesting posts flow by. Advantage, you see the rubble for what it is worth, and no bad side effects swallowing up your time. Disadvantage: You could list several such as not having any influence, being a nobody in the rubble, are whatever, which you may not be interested in anyway. But, many in this group, have alternative means for spreading their influence, if they even care.
Option B: Stay on the forum and post, putting everyone on ignore who you think is wasting your time, who are impossible to carry on logical arguments with, or for whatever reason makes them an annoyance. Since you don't see their posts, you don't respond to them, and they are 50%+ less likely to direct any posts at you. In fact, if you avoid politics, it's a good idea anyway; the problem is 99% solved. If it's not, then consider moving your traffic over to LinkedIn, Facebook, or some other place, where you can at least control your own traffic.
