North Carolina Appraiser Background Check Law Passes

Marion, you cannot prevent a lender or AMC from running a background check.
Well, if an AMC or lender desires to run a background check on my, there is no way to prevent that from happening. It is another matter if they ask me to run a background check with personal information such as social security number etc and I say NO Way. What's in it for me? A new AMC pimp? No thanks.

Where do you come up with this stuff.

IF I were or desired to be their "employee" I would acquiesce. I work with Lenders/Clients I want to work with. You have it all backwards lady. As an Independent Contractor, I choose them, they don't choose me.

I am not lawyer but I don't think a state law trumps a federal law.

I designed CBX entirely so an appraiser could order one and share it! Hey I get it. But do I think they need a law stating that? No. I know you won't believe me but even if the law said it must be a Clearbox background check I wouldn't like it.

You should re-read the Federal Law.

No where does it say anyone other than a state can/should/must background check appraisers.

You've been believing your own stories for so long, you now think they are federal law?

You need serious help.

Anyone can search public records without permission, No one can force you to provide fingerprints and submit to an FBI background check nor can they access your financial information from the IRS, or any regulated lender, or a credit bureau without your permission.

Marion, I pay an attorney lots of money. I think I will listen to them. FCRA has been around a while. Mega millions of background checks are ordered a year. And a state cannot restrict who orders them. You don't need to be a rocket surgeon to figure that out.

Or use and store your Social Security Number, or share your social security number, or sell your social security number.

And that one is Federal law.

Shall we go through the news reports for how many lawyers have gone to jail, regardless to the amount of money they were paid?

Go for it.

I'd love to post the Board's sanction reports.

Good thing I'm here to alert you to these issues that impact your little stores.

Terrel, you can but if you read the disclaimers they say you must have permission or the orderer is violating FCRA. You can also order one without a social security number but they are not very reliable.

Ya mean...like NC is now doing by making it law? So, why is it OK for you to design a share model and not the State of NC? Or other states, who hopefully follow suit.

Well, I am glad you finally get it. And yes, they did have to pen legislation because prior to doing so there was none. And it was people like you and other BC companies who were trying to create and capture a specific market to capitalize on the fact that there were none.
