NREIS not paying nor responding- BEWARE

Just an update - I've NOT moved forward from them. I have a good friend who did one for them 2 months ago. The check was cut and mailed EXACTLY 60 days after the invoice date. Interestingly, that is TEXAS LAW.

So, I'm thinking. I just raised my best client up to $400 (wonderful client, NO hassles, pretty easy work), that pays within 2 weeks of the appraisal. When I send one in, the send me another - usually 3 outstanding at any time.

So... Why in the WORLD would I take on these folks? I mean, the LO is a friend of mine. But, they pay only $350 (please take note all of you appraisers that are taking $200-250 from these guys) in the 7th largest city in the US. Then, they want to wait until the LAST DAY to pay!

I'm thinking of countering with $400 and 30 days. I'll take ONE order, and see how you do. How does that sound?

Just a note: I'm being 100% honest on the fees. I KNOW there are folks that will read this and choke. Don't ask me how I know, but I do. Seriously, if you are doing work for these folks (or any other AMC) and aren't getting $350 to $400 for a "cookie cutter" appraisal, you are leaving serious coin on the table.

Just to be clear, is "you" referring specifically to other appraisers in your area, state or all appraisers working for NREIS for $200-$250?

I'm referring to those in the local geography. BUT, it might apply elsewhere, as well.
