Without oil. How are they going to manufacture, transport and install solar panels, wind turbines and make batteries. Long term strategy? They do not have one. This isn't field of dreams.

Again it's not going to happen today. Takes time to wean of oil.

That's why it's good to not buy first new models. Usually a lot of issues.
I bought a basic washer machine which has been around for years. Mechanical knobs and none of the fancy computer gadgets.
So far no problems and so glad I don't need to go to laundromat. Time saver and convenience.

I doubt the ultimate "green" energy has even been invented yet. When that happens, lithium batteries will be obsolete.

I am thinking more along the line of an energy dense silica based battery. They are working on one that is Lithium-Silicon but there is some discussion of a non-Lithium silicon battery that is 4-10x more energy dense - which would reduce the weight of a EV battery to well under 200 lb. That is a game changer if it can be done. The alternative is another liquid fuel. Exxon has worked on biofuels from algae for some time.
