Oil & The Economy

I love driving my Tesla.
Once you drive EV, hard to go back and wait in gas lines with the peasants.
Don't have gas lines here. That must be a California problem. I can refuel it 5 minutes and be on my way for 375 miles. How long does it take to charge your ev to get less range. If I was going to get a fun to drive car it sure won't be an ev.

Today, I sped like 90 mph in less than 3 seconds. Awesome passing the slow pokes.

Do you realize how crazy and dangerous that is in traffic. Another reason not to like evs. Marginal drivers thinking they are now Indy drivers

I was on the freeway. I hate to drive in a herd mentality. Got out of those "followers" and drove my own lane away from other cars.

You seem to have a dislike for EVs.
What's your problem.
I don't mind EVs. But they aren't practical in Flyover America. We don't have any recharging stations in many places we go. And since I frequently do over 300 miles in the same day, EVs are worthless for long distance travel. They are a commuter vehicle, and the ideal car would be the VW Beetle - otherwise, a farm ATV would be fine. Somewhere you are not driving over a few miles a day.

I admit EVs are not "practical" for many places when there are not many charging stations.
It won't happen overnight but will take time.
In CA, politicians have goal posts and when can't meet them, they extend the due date.
I'm used to that in bureaucratic San Francisco.

By the time evs become practical. It will not be the current technology that will get us there.

In very rural areas, there is no demand. Places like the panhandle of Oklahoma. I mean Metro areas and I-40, etc. no problem. But it does take the better part of an hour to get recharged. When the eclipse occurred a lot of people from Fayetteville (40 miles from I-40 down I-49) had to wait 2 hours to recharge EVs in Van Buren (which was a few miles out of the way. The traffic was horrible and most had to turn back by Clarksville. Russellville was the goal and it's about 220 miles round trip to Fayetteville. So, unless you had a tip top full charge in Fayetteville, there was no place closer than Van Buren to recharge. Some people took 10 hours or more to make the round trip including the 2 hour wait to recharge 40 minutes or so.

When I was in Japan and in Australia and even in Maui last year, there were few EV cars and I didn't see chargers.
Rental car companies give biggest discounts in driving EVs.
Right now, many places are not ready for EVs.
Biden has the strategy and vision to set our nation's course to EVs. That's the future.

They had no strategy at all except putting the cart before the horse. Not a single person in his administration had a clue as to what it would take. Like trying to build a house from the roof down.
