On purchase transactions, can effective date of appraisal be changed from inspection date?

Think about what you would have to change besides pictures. market conditions, effective date, and explanations on previous assignment?

I assume something else could have sold in that time frame or market conditions could have changed.

Real property is a very fluid market. Constantly changing.

And nothing ! Some people might not consider it that a new inspection /eff date 3 since the last one to disclose they performed a prior service.
 
I have had something similar happen in the past, lucky for me, the property was vacant and on lockbox, I contacted the listing Realtor and told them I was going back to the property, so I went back a few days later and took all new photos and performed an interior/exterior site visit and changed my effective date.
You did it the right way. You didn't just change the effective date on a whim to accommodate a pending sale that closed.
