Mr Fiehler,
My wife did a review for the person I believe that you are talking about on a property in Hamilton. The original appraisal was done as a residential report, but thru some good digging by my wife found out the it was zoned and converted business 1 year prior to the refinance. That one should be interesting too......

Tim, are you going to be attending or teaching a class in the Cleveland area?????? That's a long haul from Iowa. If it's a USPAP class you will be at, I will attend just to meet you (and get my USPAP CEU of course).

Since I live about 60 miles south of Cleveland, if you will be in the area and want to meet for coffee or a drink....let me know. I got some Iowa questions I would like to throw your way.

Another one I reviewed some years ago that he did was on the single family form, but it was actually a church. He referred to the santuary area as the family room and each Sunday school classroom was noted as a bedroom. In all fairness, the church did have a bathroom and kitchen correctly noted on the sketch.

Hope to see some of you Ohio folks in AI classes in Cleveland soon.

Cleveland is a long haul from most of the posters on this thread. Why do all the trees in Cincinnati lean to the north? Because Cleveland sucks. Also, for some stupid reason, there are Buckeyes that believe that Michigan sucks. Personally, I'd rather have friends from Ann Arbor than Columbus. :new_multi:

OH MY...the day they let me teach anything the world ends! I am still pretty green.

There are a couple seminars in Cleveland coming up soon that I will be taking. Just sold the house in Iowa so we will hopefully be making an offer on a home about 20 miles north of Toledo this weekend.

I love cocktails!!! I would love to hook up some time. I will let you know which classes I will be taking soon.

Questions about Iowa.

Answers: We grow corn, have lots of cows. Not everyone is a farmer. We do not grow potatoes. We have some of the best roads in the nation. Schools are #2 in the nation behind Minnesota. If it won't get you 200 bushels an acre don't buy it. 2.9 M people live there. Rosanne Barr doesn't live here anymore. :new_smile-l:

Property taxes are low, income tax high. Still tax seniors social security. Tractors come in one color -- green. Not all of us chew tobacco (although if you do I recommend the peach Skoal).

Does that cover it?

Peach Skoal is for pansies. It's a good thing you ain't movin' further south.

Tim, I'm thinking more along the lines of what's the availability of county records, etc.

I own land in Iowa (just 13 acres), just can't decide if I want to do any residential appraising when we move there, or go for a 4th career/profession.

At least I don't spit it like most pansies. Gal at the neighborhood watering hole about puked when I had a chew and was drinking beer at the same time.

Check for your county and surrounding counties there...what county by the way?
