I was talking to an MB that used to send me about 5 a month. I asked what had happened, they told me that the realtor that sends them lots of work want them to use his favorite appraiser. I asked why not me? what is the difference? She told me that I was "too honest"............ Well since they began doing FHA, they require get comp checks and make sure you can get close to the value................this is why I do not bother anymore, same broken record.

Seems I just tlalked to FHA Investigator recently & they want to hear of lenders that are influencing Appraisers. See how fast she changes her tune. Then you may want to explain that FHA does revoke lenders priviledges to have FHA funding.

I am ALWAYS amazed when I read about these real estate / mortgage fraud schemes. These schemes have been around for years and years. How can people be so damned STUPID to think that they won't eventually get caught? To have to get so many people involved, the LONG list of lies that must be told, with such a long paper trail, to take on the risk of doing hard prison time, the stigma, the hit to the reputation, financial ruin...........JUST AMAZING! If they would just put all that effort and energy into something LEGAL, who knows what this group of people could have accomplished......

Karl, I do stand up to it, ask Pam, I just notice the lack of appraisal request, since they started doing FHA work, then on top of that, they have the realtor order the appraisal, that is when they told me what was expected and I was too honest, because the other appraiser they used is team player.

I have given them the speech of doing the right thing and why it is important to use ethical appaisers. Well that went so far. I will try again to see what happens.

<cough, cough> Scuse me? I'm probably going back to school myself. I'm currently 43. I spoke with a lady the other day in her 60's who is a nurse. Got her nursing degree at 49 and said it's the best thing she ever did.

Report both the mortgage broker and realtor to the FHA and report the mortgage borker to whoever regulates them in your state and report the realtor to the state board of realtors.

The sad fact is that the overwhelming majority of them do not get caught.
