Leeann .... before you hit send, click on accounts and choose your personal account name and your personal e-mail will be sent on your personal account ..... your business address must be your primary/default account ...... that is why it is sending on it .... check it out......;)

Thanks All!!

Ok, I'll keep the Outlook installed and play with it when I get some down time. (which may be real soon here since I'm not hitting ANYONE'S numbers :D )

Geez! I remember the days when I had the luxury of time to actually learn a program, play with it, read Help thoroughly.......... that was before I opened my own shop and got busy, let alone small kids, house under construction, etc.

Good grief! Come to think of it, I guess I'm lucky I jumped into Alamode software when I was but a fledgling appraisal company. 'Taint no way I'd have the time nor patience to fuss with learning something so complex and deal with that Guru at today's pace.

Thanks LeeAnn and Doug
I will work on it!

I want to make sure you understood my dilema. I know how to use the rules. Are you saying I can use the rules to let outlook put messages in separate folders for E mail coming from 2 separate accounts using the SAME DOMAIN. I know how to do it with 2 separate accounts using different domains. I have personal account and business account at optonline.net. How do I direct personal e mails to personal account and business E mails to business folder.

Thanks, Moe

IF you mean you have multiple email addresses then YES... Regardless as to their other extentions/domains etc. if your popserver retrieves the mail from ALL of them...
(if you follow THAT explanation... :eyecrazy: sorry I don't do technospeak)

I beleive that Outlook reads So-and-so@whatever.dom differently than Such-and-so@whatever.com and can in fact 'sort' the incoming mail into seperate folders.

Just change the red words!
()Create a rule to move all messages sent to (_person address like 'Moe@whatever.com'_) into "Moe's incoming" or whatever you want to name that folder....

Doug: once upon a time I had the thing set up so I DIDN'T have to DO anything - if it was sent TO me@mymail.com it replied from me@mymail.com if it was sent TO my work it replied FROM my work@mymail.com ... with no other action (than hitting the reply button) required on my part and ... well, I LIKED it that way. :P

Anybody know I can fix it to do that again?

Go into your e-mail accounts and tell it which address to reply with for each account. It usually does this automatically when you set the accounts up, but if you DL an update or install spam filters or other software, for some reason it changes it and you have to change it back .... it may even require deleting the accounts and re-booting and then setting them up again .... The updates from MS sometimes screw up more than they fix ....

Doug:

Take me by the hand and tell me where to find this swith. I bin lookin for over 8 months  ... I KNOW it is in there someplace I jsut can't FIND it.

Moe,

Sorry I kind of left you hangin. Had to drive to Hotlanta this weekend and just got back. If you still have questions, feel free to PM me.

Leeann .... go to "tools", "accounts" and click on the account that you want to change and click "change" ..... then go to "more settings" and at the bottom there is a "reply e-mail address" enter what you want in that space and enjoy!! Rinse and repeat for each account .... pat dry and style as needed. Close cover before striking .... FDIC insured ... some restrictions may apply ....;)

Side effects may include nausea, vomitting, diarrea, headaches and possibly anything else you could imagine.
