PAREA program

Haha. And I think the opposite. :) I think handing off trainees to any wahoo with 3 years' experience is a recipe for disaster - as we've deftly proven over the past several decades.
Both > either/or. IMO

Perhaps substitute PAREA for 1000 fewer hours of supervised experience.

And appraisal boards are culpable. It appears that is where the working definition of "acceptable appraisal experience" is established, and at least here, there has been a concerted effort to ensure that means "no barriers to certification." Much of that is the result of having a lifetime board member simultaneously carrying out the TAF/AARO agenda, sitting on the TAF board at the same time.
So much fraud it’s hard to keep up. Of course there is no disputing that TAF is a criminal enterprise but they are clearly working hand in hand with the GSEs and AMCs. The question is: will anyone step up and expose it all ? A Pulitzer may be awarded for anyone who does.

Well, it seems you have knowledge of how it all works and who has the power and leverage, so have it any way you imagine it!
Too many members are indifferent to what's happening at national, that's just sad.

28 grads since Sept 2023 launch date with multi-millions sunk into a black hole. Failure or not?

The real statistic of interest, to me, is yet to be seen.
How many will still be in business, or practicing under someone else, in say, 2 to 3 years.

I'll bet the number approaches zero. Either way, even at 100% the numbers are so low that the impact is effectively zero. And when the TAF grant money runs out PAREA will be shelved.

IMO boots on the ground residential real estate appraisers need to pay attention to the discussions that are starting about allowing alternative experience (real estate sales, construction, finance). The "stakeholders" are h$ll bent on getting rid of experience and turning this into something that resembles real estate agent licensing.

So disappointing I haven’t seen the full interview yet — but from what’s out, these two seem like decent people who’ve been tossed headfirst into the cesspool that is TAF, AMCs, and the GSE racket.

Morely and Verret, meanwhile, are busy licking the boots of the same unethical stakeholders who’ve rigged the system. It’s their show — so they own the decision to platform these people.

How they sleep at night, I can't begin to imagine. That level of cognitive dissonance must require industrial-grade denial.

Oh, we know people are rooting against you,” claim Morley and Verret—how brave of them to say, while clutching their pearls. No, actually, we’re not rooting against you personally. We’re rooting against the corrupt, self-serving system you're propping up.

And Verret? He really gave the game away: “I know the Appraisal Institute is trying to push people through as quickly as possible.” Oh? So you admit it's a certification mill? Thanks for confirming what everyone already suspected—just without the PR spin this time. LOL
