Ok possible topics for the meeting besides, the review

Scope Work, essential elements for every file
Narrative Residential

any other ideas?

BTW MSU alumni, any luck with the room?

Those are good.
Keep it simple to start IMO.

I'd love to see an Excel and analysis discussion but that could take a huge chunk of time...like a couple days.

Speaking of tees...weather sure is getting nice. :)

Start simple like Brian suggested. See if everyone is on the same page, some people are trained differently and might be able to give insight to others. Training methods are different from every mentor (which is carried over to their own practice because that is the way they were trained).

Some might see they are trained different (wrong or right) than others, and see good and bad between the differences.

I think the goal is improving the profession, and anyone wanting to attend this obviously has the same goal.

Mr. Fowl has a very good residential narrative, something everyone could learn from, I know I did. I think that would be a great subject for a future meeting.

I like scope of work, but more importantly workfile. We throw that term around alot, but I am really curious what everyone thinks should be in one. Like Tim said, everyone is trained different...so I would like everyone's input into this elusive workfile.

I figure the goal of this peer group is to say, here is our standard, this is how we as a group are going to treat workfiles, analysis of sales, neighborhood descriptions, market analysis, etc. Give each other some order and accountability, as opposed to well that was just how I was taught...

But I'd also love to see this unbelieveable residential narrative....someone keeps referring to it as the holy grail, I would love to learn from it!

Since I haven't written anything independently for over 4 years, can I bring an old redacted one?

Sure, why not.

By the way the cut off for peer review patricipation is tomorrow, I need everyone's email PM to me so I can distribute the reviews for people to review before next Thrusday.

That also means I will need everyone's report they want reviewed by tomorrow.

Thanks Jason that would be nice.

I hope this goes well and there are more get-togethers planned. Maybe quarterly?

Hey, Mr. Moderator -

Why is the little red circle after my name red? Does it have to do with my red hair? If so, how did anyone know my hair is red before this post?

BTW MSU alumni, any luck with the room?

Talked with Beth at the Kellogg Center and there is NO special deals for MSU alumni, someone was mis-informed. Rate would be $175 for a conf room for the day.

I also talked with Holloways and they would be willing to provide their small conf room (20-30 people) for us at $50. The only catch with them is that they all leave by 4:30 so we would have to be out by then. I'm guessing we will have approx 10 people, so $5 per person isn't a bad deal really. We should probably have this meeting START by 2:30, that means get there around 2:15.

If everyone is in favor of this, I can call Lisa back at Holloways and book the room. For directions, Holloways address is 5606 South Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Lansing, Michgan 48911. Their website is http://www.hollowaysinstitute.com
