Pegged my Windows 10 PC this afternoon

I am one of those overkill nuts. That's why my 2013 build lasted as long as it has. I am going with an ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme motherboard and an Intel Core i9 285K CPU. I guess the EATX motherboards are falling out of favor because NEWEGG doesn't stock them anymore, but Best Buy has them.

I would recommend AMD cpus right now. If you do any gaming maybe look at the 9800x3D or last gen 7800x3D. Those have your top gaming performance and none of the P/E core issues intel has.

I go to staples or office max website. They have some very good price speedsters on sale most of the time.

I broke down the case and started to clean everything. Not bad for 12 years old. Everything works fine except for the operating system.

Best fans in the biz. Looks good!

My problem upgrading to W11 (with my gaming tower) is simply the motherboard. It can support up to 7th gen cpu and W11 minimum is 8th gen.

At least I can use my nvme and sata hdds for the new build. I wish I could figure out how to use the tower, making a 'stealth' machine, but the 3080 is the size of a shoebox and fitting it in is an issue.

Be sure to show the new setup.

The Core Ultra line has problems? I wasn't aware.

I am not a gamer, but I do like high resolution and seamless streaming. I use the good stuff because it tends to perform better over time. A build every ten years is pretty damn good.

Wow! You guys have me thinking that my Win7 appraisal computer with a Win XP for backup is obsolete.

AMD stuff is better than Intel right now (Intel has been complacent and falling behind [MBA curse], hence the gov't bailout).

Agree. My current build is from 2018 and still has plenty of life. I would definitely go for highest core count and most ram you can afford. If I were to build one tomorrow, it would have 16 cores and 64gb ram minimum (AMD 9950x and 2x32gb ddr5 6000 which gives you expansion to 128gb if you need it).

Dual GPU is now only for multiple individual tasks (self hosted LLM, crypto mining, rendering, etc.) They don't work together anymore like they did 10 years ago with SLI. I have one for my monitors (three 32' 4k) and another strictly for compute tasks.

So far, my wish list includes an ASUS ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme motherboard, an Intel Core Ultra-285 K CPU, an ROG Strix GeForce RTX 5070 Ti GPU, four Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB RAM sticks, and one or two SSDs, along with a Seasonic Prime TX-1300 power supply. And a gaming widescreen OLED 4k monitor with a high refresh rate.

You should be able to stream Trump Rally's pretty good with that set up...
