What shows do you watch? What teams/sports do you want?
Once you have your list, find providers that offer your specifics. You may end up with a package of subscriptions to complete your watch list.
Look for 'free' channels: My cell phone provider gives me basic Netflix. Samsung tvs have 300 free channels by just plugging it in and connecting to the internet.
I buy my internet and home phone a la carte (no cable). There is a monopoly here, but soon there will be competition.
Cable TV is for lazy people. If you have the disposable income, then enjoy.
