Phone and tv serviceI hav-

You need to work it backwards.

What shows do you watch? What teams/sports do you want?

Once you have your list, find providers that offer your specifics. You may end up with a package of subscriptions to complete your watch list.

Look for 'free' channels: My cell phone provider gives me basic Netflix. Samsung tvs have 300 free channels by just plugging it in and connecting to the internet.

I buy my internet and home phone a la carte (no cable). There is a monopoly here, but soon there will be competition.

Cable TV is for lazy people. If you have the disposable income, then enjoy.

I cut the cable and went with You Tube TV about a year ago. Still had Spectrum for internet until Helene. Went without power for 8 days, internet for over 2 weeks. Got Starlink October and kicked Spectrum to the curb. Cable and internet $175/mo. You Tube and internet $148/mo. You Tube and Starlink $198/mo.

I don't mind the extra $28/mo for Starlink over cable and internet. I'm installing a whole house backup generator, and with Starlink, I'm covered on power and internet.

I just can't do it.
As I've aged my span of attention is about the same as a six-year-old. I haven't watched a half-dozen 2-hour movies in the past 20 years.

Get an unlimited hotspot with a single line cell phone service. Or get Starlink and you can use it as a satellite cell tower. Works with T Mobile and others. Then get Ruko

It's the usual dance. You're a good customer so, they keep raising your rates until you just can't take it. At the same time, they are offering new customers great prices for the same or even better service. You can call customer service and complain and ask for the same deal that they are giving new customers. Sometimes that works. Or... you can jump ship to a different provider and start the dance again.

They are all like car insurance, every couple of years you should check prices all around. Once you switch, if you can stay for a year and a half to two, when you switch, you should be a new customer again.
There is no customer loyalty from large or small companies, those days are long gone

I cut the cord a few years ago. I dumped comcast/xfinity and all of their services. Here is what I did :

1. Verizon wireless internet $35 monthly fee. We have close to 20 devices (phones, smart tvs, laptops, ipads, and several tablets) connected . Two of us work remotely and connect zoom and teams meetings. We also connect to work related data bases with 0 issues. Current upload/download speeds 298/21 with 12 devices currently on line.

2. You tube tv is $72.99 a month plus NFL Sunday ticket/Redzone

3. Amazon Prime and Netflix for about $30 month

4. I get Disney+, Apple TV, and hulu as part of my wireless phone package

5. I share passwords for all with my adult children and as a result get peacock, paramount +, and Max

Cable is so expensive. It's been going up every year and this year is worse.
It's the junk fees like the mandatory sport broadcast fees added to my bill.
I don't watch sports and I'm force to subsidize sports watchers.
Use to really follow football but it's a violent sport.

YouTube TV doesn't really count as cutting the cord.

If you don't watch sports, then you have quite a few cheaper options
Broadcast fees just getting more expensive every year. It's ridiculous. It's not optional.
I can see my local teams on basic TV. No need to go to ESPN and such.
