I tried ACI (last summer) but ran into a problem from the get-go. Called / faxed / emailed ACI tech support for help and waited and waited and waited... ( 3 days ). Now, I doubt that this was the norm for ACI (at least I hope it isn't) but to me it was painful. I am a strong believer in cutting my losses (with ACI it was " time") and moved on.
Yes, there are many good software packages out there (Athena, Toolbox, ACI, etc.) but few "great software-tech support packages". I can only base my decisions on personal experience. alamode is there when I need them (a phone call or email away) and is willing to bear with me in solving what is too often "operator error" (yeah, I even get my fingers struck between the keys). I've heard some say that such support is too expensive. I say it is money well spent.
