Hi, seniors

I just finished basic appraisal principles at mckissock and now it requires me to take a test with a proctor. been searched how to do but I'm still a bit confused.

Is there any certified testing centers for appraisers? Most of information that I got from mckissock or online are kinda useless. Simply It says, "I don't know how but good luck to find someone to watch your exam"

Is there any online proctors can watch my exam while I'm taking a test? I've searched libraries near by but none of them provide proctor service.

I can't understand that this profession still doesn't have a certified testing center for a license or Am I totally misunderstanding something?

My location is Los Angeles, CA. Please advise how to deal with proctor exam

Thank you..

For McKissock‘s proctored exams is all you need to do,is have someone independent of you (no relatives, mentor ,etc.) oversee your taking of the exam. Basically making sure you don’t cheat or have any assistance. If I remember correctly they do provide a list of the type of people they recommend. Quick and easy signup and sign in.

You should even be able to do it over Zoom - or at least some of the other schools allow that.

I assume you are getting a license ? NOT for Continuing Ed ?

My wife is a retired teacher and often gets calls to proctor exams.

Maybe just call your local school and see if someone is willing to do it. I'd expect to pay them for their time. $25/hr will probably attract someone.

Sylvan Learning Centers used to do that. I assumed that "Proctor" is the root word for Proctologist.

I appreciate all replies. I will leave a comment how I did so it might help other future appraisers protor exam.
Thank you seniors!!

Everybody wants to know what type of McKissock courses require an exam proctor.

I'd like to meet the person who invented proctored exams. I've taken two in my career. One time a co-corker in the next cubicle did it for me (later I bought her a candy bar for her efforts), the other time a library did it. Both times were irrelevant hogwash.
