Purpose of appraisal port?

Nah...when dealing with sharks don't jump in the pool.

The mortgage appraiser needs protections that they will never get from government. Government sees nothing wrong with middlemen sucking the lifeblood out of appraisers.

Remember the Golden Rule.

Has anyone thought of creating our own "appraisal port"? One that would compete with the FNC appraisal port to prevent these type of problems.
Just what would be the lender's motivation to use the system? The lenders choose the system used because they are the ones with the money. They will use a system if it is to their advantage, but there would need to be something in it for them. It can't be more trouble than it's worth. Most software companies have products available to allow appraisers to setup the reception and delivery of orders. I often use my web site to do secure delivery of reports, it's not difficult, but why would a lender chose it over a system they have set up? What is in it for them?

Keep in mind that X-CEO/Pres of eAppraiseIT stated they are complicit in having that third party software company unlocking and 'converting' the appraisal reports because their 'bank clients demand it'.
I want to know why they demand it! Anybody want to make some guesses as to why???

See the emergency hearing transcript about this at www.MortgageFraudWatchList.org

eappraise-it

What I don't understand is why some of these companies use appraisal port instead of an AMC that will take care of the whole appraisal process? Also, who was the ex ceo of eappraise-it?

They do it because they are not stupid enough to trust appraisals to be done by the lowest bidder.
