Reciprocal Appraisers Will Now Have to Submit CE classes

it won't matter much.
It is not going to matter much to me since I will be retiring when my AR license expires June 30, 2026 the exact date the OK new CE rules go into effect, and I will retire my OK license then anyway. But for an AR licensee they will be 28 hours when the rule kicks in, but will need 14 more hours to renew in OK the following year since they are on a 3 year cycle. Assuming it is acceptable CE in both states, the issue is most appraisers in AR will not get their hours until the six months prior to renewal. But to license in OK, they will have to basically take 14 hours more, but only need 14 more hours to renew on the 2 year cycle in AR, but as a practical matter it is forcing the appraiser to take 14 hours every individual year rather than load up the entire CE requirement in a short period of time. And some offerings are lumped into 4 or 6 classes depending upon the class provider.

It is not that. He is saying they require 42 hours every 3 years. In other words, they renew every 3 years like where TN renews every 2 years and requires 28 hours.

TN has an approved provider list too so the education provider has to be on that list.
Sorry... I just don't have much sympathy when it is a business decision. If you find that maintaining credentials in multiple states is too much trouble or too expensive... then don't. One state has a three year cycle requiring 42 hours CE (or 14 hours per year) and the other has a 2 year cycle requiring 28 hours (or 14 hours per year). Maybe just do 14 hours every year instead of waiting until the last minute?

Maybe just do 14 hours
Someone not contemplating retiring in the middle of that cycle would certainly consider that but other than online classes, live classes are often bunched up in the months leading up to renewal. You will be hard pressed to find a live class in my area before January or Feb of 2026. The cycle ends in June of 26. Most classes will be in Mar-May

It's true that in person classes have become harder to find. I don't think anyone said that only the in person classes count. You know, you can't always have it your way.

Your just rubbing salt in my wounds on retiring. I'll forgive you eventually.

Got an email that the OREAB will now require reciprocal appraisers to submit CE instead of only a letter of good standing from their state. OK, since OK is a 3 year cycle and Arkansas is a 2 year cycle, how exactly does that work? From what I see, it implies you must take 2 CE courses ANNUALLY??? I don't know. I will have to ask for more details. Makes no sense, and my license expires in Nov. I am thinking of not renewing if it is too complicated. I am going to let my AR license expire in Jun of 2026 anyway. I been in this rodeo long enough and when the AR license expires the OK license gets sent back anyway.
If you can use the same classes just overlap as best you can. I submit CE to two states, well one state and DC.
