Restaurant chains close

Damn it, I never got a chance to try a Bennigan’s and now they are closing!

Old Country Buffet has been going down hill for the past year anyway.
I think there are other reasons for closing. The theme got old and the food sucked IMO. I would start taco and hot dog stands, Seriouly. I have been seeing a couple of hot dog trailers in the big box hardware stores pop up lately.

Jul 29, 2008 ... Both the Bennigan’s and Steak and Ale restaurant chains have both filed for bankruptcy. (Old news reported above)

Mervyns, the California department store chain on Tuesday filed for bankruptcy

The American Bankruptcy Institute reported last month that U.S. consumer bankruptcy filings
increased 30 percent in the first half of this year compared with the same period a year ago.

Interestingly -- is the Government finally stepping into the gaping breach with a usury law ???
Since you have to follow the $$ to figure out why something is being done - who benefits here??
(( Who said Gbment working to shield/defend the citizens??))

Senate Bill S. 3287 --- dated: JULY 17, 2008: LINK

Have you seen those payday loan advertisements on TV lately? They state, "no credit check, we trust you". Read the small print. 99% interest if I read it right. It was kind of fast and really small and I don't have HDTV or TIVO. I don't know if that was monthly or annually. Probably, annually.....I would hope.

Yep, left in the past. Steak and Ale and Bennigans were 80s throw backs.

You can sling a dead cat in any direction of my area and hit a Ruby's, Applebee's, any steakhouse chain, Taco stand and Chinese joint. Like Mr. Rex said, I can remember when Bennigans/S&A were the placed to eat back in the 80s. Their food has always sucked as does the current chains; just fluffed up fast-food.
