I wonder if this is a state law that has had some spillover effects? I've never heard of it being mandatory here.
 
I could provide one resume for them to have on file. Just need to update it periodically.

Not even that ... it merely needs to be "current within 6 months" of "the date it was provided". I interpret that to mean a resume must be submitted when first using a new client and then all is good for the next 30 years. I would probably want to update if there was a significant change in status (such as a LR going to CR or CR to CG or designations, etc) but it does not seem to indicate mandatory 6 month updates or such.
