What is the responsibility of the lender's SAR reviewing a VA appraisal?

To make sure the report is VA compliant.

VeroSCORE does not work on manufactured home
ok

What about this thread makes you think anything about anything to make you think anything about anything to think anything about manufactured homes?

Need to know VA handbook backwards and forwards. They are like a mentor looking over your shoulder on your appraisal. Proof reading it. They can go into ROVs and appraisal procedures and analysis, but tidewater almost eliminates ROVs for them.

They are pretty much like a CYA for the appraiser if lender or veteran has a problem. Not all VA appraisals are reviewed by SARs.
The RLC reviews many of them even if a SAR that works for a lender reviewed the appraisal previously.

The RLC randomly selects appraisals to review. They not only look at appraisal performance. They also look at SAR performance that is employee of a lender.

Many of people in Atlanta RLC have years of experience in private appraisal practice.

They use the veroscore to determine what type of review and it doe not work on all appraisal types. So your veroscore on a VA appraisal on say a manufactured home may be horrible when it does not work on Manufactured homes. Now you know

Maybe it was just a public service announcement in order to inform people in order to inform people in order to inform people about the limitation?

You can say that again

Most SARs are licensed appraisers. Just for your info. I am not sure a SAR can be approved by VA without being licensed appraiser.
Never met an SAR who holds an appraisal license yet.

That's good then for a lender. Idk.

On their conversations over phone or email, they don't reference appraiser ID because they are not doing an appraisal.

I never really ask to be honest. I have never asked VA if they have to be licensed or if it helps to get the job as a SAR.

I don't know what they make on income.

Many if not most of the people in RLC are licensed appraisers. I have asked several of them. Many have had many years of private appraisal practice.
