Has anyone called FHA? I just got off the phone with the Atlanta office. He told me it would be unlikely a licensed appraiser who is on the panel would be removed. Take from that what you want. 1-800-call-FHA

I checked and was told the same thing.

Yes , FHA can only be done by Certified General Appraisers

It will easily be September before the effects of the law have time to work there way into the system. Someone on the other end of a telephone will not have anymore information than you do at this point in time.

That is a very intersting question since OFHEO, which is one of the parties that actually had to sign the settlement agreement with Cuomo will soon cease to exist - to be replaced by the Federel Housing Finance Agency (FHFA). Since this new entity, which will be the new regulator of Fanne and Freddie, was not a party to the Cuomo agreement, the FHFA is not bound by that agreement and may issue new regulations regarding Fannie and Freddie that do not conform to the Cuomo agreement.....then again, the FHFA may choose to implement the Cuomo agreement.....we are just going to have to wait to see how it plays out.
