...it would be a worth while investment. It'll make you go that much faster and it'll cost you way more than that in eye surgery, if you don't.

I just went to SFREP's website and looked at their "pricing" page. Everything they have requires a monthly fee? Am I reading that right?

My monthly ISP fee is all I can tolerate. I don't even believe in car payments and I sure as heck am not going to pay a monthly fee for software.

Residentialguy, I am calling you out. I have used SFREP for 15 years. Was basically happy with it, but not lately. They are re-writing the program. Why would someone do that if there was no problem? I have lost countless amounts of information and am super frustrated. It is super buggy. Info transfers poorly. Its hard to impossible to edit old information in your data base. There is ABSOLUTELY no way you have not had any issues. i know there are issues with most software, but call a spade a spade.

Well newbie, you seem to be the anomaly. I haven't ever lost data and info transfers without a hiccup. It worked great on the old 1004 and works great on the new UAD form. XML and pdfs are no problem. I don't know what you mean by "hard to impossible to edit old information in your data base"??? The only thing that is a bit annoying is the short freeze when the auto save enacts...but it's worth it; I've had my computer crash a number of times (due to a problem with my video card when surfing the web) and my info is there when I re-boot.

Requests and Issues with SFREP (current):
-Reformats the entire form if I sneeze or do anything else in or near the program
-Still "forgets" what pages I want in a certain Print Scheme (always has too)
-MISMO/XML View Functionality
-There is no "off switch" for UAD Helper for a field by field basis


Really the "off switch" is very needed. Thanks for fixing these SFREP, you may get another 20 years out of my company yet!

There are many problems with Appraise-It but it has been stable and reliable (never lost a report, not once) for 20 years. It is also simple to use, and has at least tried to keep the appraiser's needs first since day 1. I agree that the UAD Version has been poor in comparison with previous iterations. I hope they will fix it with the "re-write" which I suspect is due to UAD.

You guys are so full of it. Newbie, yeah right. Maybe on this forum, but I can all but guarantee I know this software better than most (including you). Here are some of the problems. You can't edit old photos out of Image manager. I have lost comments in the sales comparison approach. I once printed a file in pdf and all of the fields changed, some in unidentifiable characters. This included UAD extended comments fields that aren't supposed to be able to be changed other than in UAD bar. Sometimes UAD characters will show up in the wrong fields, such as C4 in view. N;Res in condition, etc. Yesterday comp manager deleted all my comps other than a line or two out of an old comp, and then it placed older comps in the report. This was after I edited non UAD comps. EVERY USER according to tech support has had the problem that keeps coming up that the report is locked by another user. Our software said the user was Chad Hearn from NC a while back. This is only a small sampling of the problems we have had. Residentialguy, call me a newbie all you want, but I am calling you out. You are a blogger not an appraiser. Don't believe the hype.

Just went to make a lender requested change in a report and all of the photos addendum pages, sketch and fax scan addendums were blank and need to be re-imbedded. Once again these guys are full of it that there are no problems.

Part of the problem may be a networked system. That being said I will add tech support got into our networking and $200 later we were back up and running. A troll yeah right. Here is a screen shot of our version. Why my friend are they re-writing from the ground up?? Seems odd for a program with no bugs. BTW is this Marty or Ted from tech support. LOL.
