I asked Santa to bring me a new County Map this year. Imagine my disappointment when all the wrapping paper shreds settled to the floor and.......no new Map !!

Hagstrom's was bought out by Rand McNally and their whole line was discontinued. Now Rand is pushing their "State Road Atlas" which isn't quite the same as a Street-Indexed County Map.

Before you start chirping about GPS and Navigation tools -- don't need 'em. I'm old-school. I know the county, and all the short cuts & back roads. I just like having a map. Until the Garmin GPS's come out with Voice Recognition, Route Optimization, and built-in MP3 players......I'm not interested.

So, anybody have a Monmouth County Hagstrom's that doesn't have all the pages falling out of the spiral binding ?????

Rand has pretty much killed the Thomas Guide too.
Some of them are on Amazon for over $200!
I haven't seen anything near as good. Good business decision. m2:

Don,

I think my mom has one.

No joke.

It might be from 1966.

But I believe she does have one. I'll check tomorrow.

Thank you guys and gal. I think somewhere in those many links is the "Security Blanket" that I need.

Marion -- Don't trouble Mom for her Map. This county has changed so much since the 60's ....that map belongs in the Historical Society !!

In Maryland the old ADC maps were wonderful things. Clearly printed and large. A couple years ago after not being able to find those ADC beauties I ordered some new smaller maps books from Kappa. They're current, and I use the GPS maps most of the time, but I like having an old school printed map with me. But they're really lousy compared to ADC.

The big map company in the northwest is Metzer Maps and they are still in business. They use to have property ownership maps. Whenever I go on a road trip, I still always bring a folding paper map.
