Is it usually safe to "Unsubscribe" to a site that keeps bugging, rather than "reporting spam and blocking"? I'm always worried that to "unsubscribe is a trap.
If you recognize the URL, then it is likely safe to unsubscribe - the assumption being that the sender will comply with the request. Otherwse, for example if the sender is a maliciaous hacker, "reporting spam and blocking" is considered safer, because you avoid giving the sender any confirmation that the email is active and being used.

Sorry, it's been years since I used that. I have no idea what's going on with your missing commas. Doesn't sound like any malware that I've ever heard of, however.

kinda like once again this week most of the file management structure on my laptop is topsy-turvey. I'm SURE that I didn't do it...

So, it's not limited to appraisal program issues. The first thing I would do is run Malwarebytes and see what it comes up with.

Well, as background information. There are widespread security changes going on that are disruptive:

1. Apple made its WiFi protocols more strict with recent upgrades. Old WiFi/network hardware may not function well without upgrades and possibly difficult to maintain reconfiguration. You may be forced to upgrade your hardware.

2. Windows is becoming more of a problem.

3. Some carriers (e.g. AT&T) are getting more aggressive about collecting AND SELLING your information. In fact, I was considering switching my phone to AT&T to bundle it with AT&T Fiber Optic -- but their Fiber Optic is one thing and there Mobile Phone servic another. They accutally want you to agree to them collecting your information AND SELL IT to undisclosed recipients!! What? Unbelievable.

4. Everything is getting bizarly complicated. You need to get AI to analyze all services and contracts. In fact, for example, I found that Grok had completely memorized all the latest bizarre deals the major phone and internet carriers were offering and could figure out in detail how to navigate all the contractual "Gotchas." I give it an A for that.

5. It seems like everybody is using AI to figure out how to steal your money!! Oh yea. Dog eat dog. Your best friend may very well be your worst.

Just downloaded... although hoping "Mike Ault" isn't a front for a Trojan Horse virus lurking on the AF for years... LOL

No need to worry, Mike has no interest fronting horses, but if you're referring to the rear of sheep, that's something else entirely. The winters are long and cold in the panhandle.

To ensure safety, always download Malwarebytes from its official website (malwarebytes.com) or authorized distributors. Downloads from third-party sites may include modified or malicious versions of the software.

We now know how they handle the cold in North Dakota.
