I am sending off 3 reports that I have completed to the state of Wisconsin. From what I'm getting the rules are you can send them to the state for review without violating any confidentiality rules. My question is it necessary to cross out the names of the borrowers? I've never done this before.

You do not have to cross anything out when it goes to the state.

Hi Betsy

I've never done it before either, and don't know the answer to your question.

However, I have a question. Why are you sending the reports to the state?

Not being sarcastic, just curious.

Thats what I figured. I had my supervisor tell me to cross out the names and I should be fine. After reading the states website and USPAP I didnt think I had to.

I would suspect that the state is requesting a random sample from your experience log. The letter they sent to you probably indicated three specific reports to send to them unaltered. If that is the case, I would do just that.

Don't cross out anything! You are not violating anything in USPAP by submitting the report. The State can ask you to produce reports, files etc. at any time; not just when you are getting licensed.

I sent in my work to be licensed (they never reviewed my work) I was approved. Apparently when upgrading to certified they want some of my work. I believe the rule is they randomly pick 80% of all applicants. That's all. Sorry my story isnt dramatic :)

Now that is funny !!! Cancel the pitchfork and torches posse, they will have to seek out another thread...

Send the appraisals exactly the way they were communicated to the client! ! ! ! Make NO changes! ! !
