Wayne,

Would that be a slide bar that goes from low to high and would that be for both "Trusted" and "Restricted" sites?

Thanks,

Bryan

I don't know what you mean here, are you still talking about Internet Explorer or some other program? If it is another program I really can't help you as I probably wouldn't be using it.

I know that the auto logins work for over 95% of our users so far so it is something in your configuration that is different, and it has to do with cookies, or a slight possibility of being behind a firewall on a network or something like that.

A slide bar? Are you under the Privacy Settings in Explorer?
Mell.

No the cookie settings are under the "security" tab of Internet options. Click "tools" then "internet options" from your tool bar, then the security tab, then scroll down to the "cookie" section and make sure they are enabled. If you have never messed with this section they will be enabled because that is the default

Wayne,

Finally found those cookie settings and they are both enabled. So I have no idea what the problem is. The only other thing I have on the system is McAfee virus shield and associated programs. I may be in this stuff or in my host D-net. Anyway will keep trying to solve this one.

Wayne,

By the way if you feel there is something else I should try just let me know. Be more than happy to be the test monkey.

Wayne:

I assume you are following this thread: I also have Explorer Ver 5.50.4807.2300 ...
I also am running McAfee, and sit behind a Netgear router, and Zone Alarm.
As of yesterday I was still being tossed out despite having repeatedly 'checked the boxes', and was getting timed out or tossed before any posts...
As of today I do not appear to be getting kicked out... yet.

I have a similiar set up. IE 5.5, Zone Alarm Pro, Linksys router, Mcafee for virus scanning. But I have no problems. I am on the forum for hours then decide to post and have no problems.

I am 99% sure it is something to do with your cookie set up in IE or some program that you run (or runs in the background) that deletes your cookies from time to time. If it is not that then I haven't a clue.

Thanks Wayne!

No problems today, not sure what the problem was yesterday, repeatedly checked the box and still got tossed on a regular basis!
I think I need to learn more about IE, but then again ignorance is bliss... must have been the ghosts in the wind that used to scare the horses! :?

We switched from the Linksys router late last year when two or three of them fried in a row, but was pretty disappointed in their tech support: when you burn three in a row and the Netgear competition doesn't fry you gotta figure there was some kind of problem with thier equipment... Cable techs pointed finger at router:router techs at Cable.... We are probably gong to switch back to Linksys, I think it was faster (?).

Have cable modem for service which has been historiccly stable, but it may have been hiccups there(?) 8O

AND entirely off topic: Can you find a few more cute girl avatar things from someplace? Somehow the one jtrotta has assumed just won't quite work for me!

Added a few female avatars to the gallery. They are at the bottom of the gallery. Let me know if you like any of them.

I will eventually get techno-sophisticated  enough to run with one of my own, but I like the pretty pictures readily available better for now! :D

The selections you chose are great! I had to pick between rather than 'settle for'.

Thanks again :!:
