Stock market is down

The decline is temporary though. :)

The price action is not that unusual. We get headlines and price action like this every few years.
I've been buying today, but a lasting recovery would require Trump to back off on the tariff idiocy. The main concern is that he can do that in a way that allows him to spin this as a win. Other countries seem to be standing pretty firm thus far, so I'm not sure if that can be pulled off.

I am not one to pay too much attention to media. Maybe you are right but you should consider that you might be wrong about the impact of tariffs.

I focused a lot on international economics in college, but I'll be glad to shout to the rooftops if wrong. But why not choose trade battles carefully? We are alienating allies and those that we have very healthy trade relationships with.

Globalization has its side effects - the loss of manufacturing in the Midwest being a case in point - but we still benefit from being able to buy cheap goods that cannot be produced at those levels here. The working class is already strained from inflation, and this will pressure them even more. This could literally bring us into an economic depression.

That is the obvious conclusion to jump to but based on what I have observed over the years watching the market and news is that there are always other things that are less obvious that turn out to be significant.

Yesterday I bought some stocks when market went down.
Today, it went down again. Ugh. Main Street gets kill with the tariffs.
This is a man made disaster only Trump can manipulate.
Trump and his insiders can make so much money in stock market if Trump next day declare no more tariffs.

But your not going to sell because your in to it for the long term

The reason this isn't being handled with diplomacy instead of naked, open negotiations is that we've been asking nicely for 20+ years and getting a middle finger in response—it's time to stop being nice.

I have said this before and wll say it again. It seems like we have been the worlds piggy bank. It has to end, We can't to let others make everything and then they swell it to us. Especially are enemies,

We protect all these countries for free and they make all kinds of money selling stuff to us.

Do you really think America does anything for free....
There's always a debt and a price to pay....

Remember that lovely saying....
Freedom is never free....
