Stock market is down

But your not going to sell because your in to it for the long term
Yes, when Trump leaves office, tariffs be gone and stock market and economy will return to prosperity.

The stock market is reacting to bad government policy.
Usually fiscal policy doesn't affect the FED.
Today Powell came out and said because of the tariffs, inflation will continue and economy will slow.

So when the stock market is booming by the midterms I guess everybody should vote MAGA?
I'm curious how MAGAs are feeling on the adverse effects Trump's tariffs is putting our stock market and economy down a dire path.
I suspect they are trusting Trump's instincts like cult followers. Just like he used his instincts before and he went bankrupt.

I think many are wishing they were out of stock market but hate to trade out at the moment. It becomes real when you sell.

I am trying to find a silver lining somewhere for the housing market but I am having a hard time.

The FED is looking at inflation numbers and I don't see a rate cut coming soon with these tariffs. It appears inflation is going to rise which will keep the Fed from lowering the fed funds borrowing rate.

I can't see the Fed raising the fed funds rate but God only knows. Inflation appears on the horizon. Ronald Reagan is rolling over in his grave.

If inflation goes way up, the Fed has no choice but to raise fed funds interest rate.

The fed funds rate is the rate banks pay or lend to the Fed overnight. It has direct impact on the money supply and inflation.

Banks lend to the FED some nights and borrow from the FED some nights depending. The interest rate the FED charges has direct impact on money supply and inflation.

Housing loans are tied more to the 10 year treasury rate bill. However the Fed funds rate has a direct impact on home mortgage loan interest rates.

Has direct impact on commercial real property mortgage rate loans. Home equity loans etc.

I don't see inflation falling with these tariffs. Trump is gambling with some big players. This ain't a golf match Sir.

did it occur to you that maga loyalist are hoping industry/manufacturing will be brought back and create actual labor type jobs? You do know this sector has taken a beating due to cheap labor in other countries. There is real value in taking a pile of something and changing it something consumers are willing to pay for.

Nando, here is some good advice. When ever you go outside you better take an umbrella. If you don't and you get caught in t rain you will die from drowning.

Nando here is another way to look at it. fI manufacturing continues to decline domestically, the U.S. may face increased reliance on foreign supply chains, potentially making it vulnerable to trade disruptions, geopolitical tensions, and inflationary pressures.

Here is a real scary part. the U.S. relies on China for certain pharmaceutical products, particularly for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)—the key components in many medications. Over the past few years, imports of Chinese pharmaceuticals have grown significantly, with China now being one of the top suppliers of ready-to-use drugs to the U.S..

So China, not Russia is our number one threat to our national security. Russia is Chinas muscle and disrupter to world peace.

Then have a strategic plan with tariffs....
Start building the needed factories for certain vital products....
Do we need a factory to produce 100% Made In America flip flops....

Aren't you a VET....
Does TRUMP'S tariff strategy sound sound to you....
"All right men, run up the hill"....
"Don't forget to wear your dog tags"....

Use a shotgun to kill a fly....
