It depends on how you use it, I basically use it for the subject property photos, sketch and field notes, I just have to clean up the sketch some when I get back, but I don't have to do the entire sketch again, all my subject property photos are already done and in the report, so I don't have to upload those into the report.

It's just like a clipboard and paper, except it's electronic, once you use it (tablet in the field) 10-15 times, it becomes second nature. I like becuase I am not doing things twice, I am not drawing the sketch at the property and then doing the sketch on a computer later and I'm not taking the subject property photos and then uploading them into the report.

I understand that and I guess I will eventually have to go that route. I am so much faster taking notes with a pen and sketching than I would be with an Ipad.

When I get on my desktop, I am 2 times faster than I would be with an Ipad.

I still use 25 ft steel tape, laser, and 100 ft fiberglas tape and toolbelt. I use Iphone 14 pro on pictures.

I need to do a bucket list for my clipboard on what 3.6 requires and just take the form with me on clipboard and fill it out check, check check..

I am not lying to you. I could possibly be 10 times faster on desktop computer in my office than ipad in the field.

My point is for me personally, I don't think an ipad would save me any time vs pen and paper in the field.

There are a number of cases. I used Otterbox. It was really solid. And I worked in Wisconsin. You get it all. Check to see if they work for Pro 11. I think most military grade cases will work.

I read some reviews on the Otterbox case where it affects the responsiveness of the screen and it doesn't have a handle or strap. I was hoping for something with a handle or strap/lanyard. Has anyone used RhinoGuard cases?

You're comments are EXACTLY what all my appraiser friends tell me, my advice to you would be, do NOT switch to a tablet, you can save a LOT of time by not doing the sketch twice, not having to download your pictures, as they're already in the report, typing in your notes doesn't take much time, you can always still write your field notes on paper, but you seem pretty content with your current way of doing things.

You seem to be comfortable in your ways, if you are "10 times faster on desktop computer in my office than ipad in the field" then continue to do things how you are.

My question is, how would you know that you're, "so much faster taking notes with a pen and sketching than I would be with an Ipad." if you've never used a tablet in the field, after using a tablet in the field about 15 times, you will have a better idea if it's for you or not.

I have given up trying to help any of my appraiser friends use a tablet, one of my friends used it a whole 3 times in the field and gave up, everyone else tell me pretty much the exact things you are saying, so again, you should just continue with the way you're doing things.
