The Uniform Abomination Dataset Doomsday Clock

As usual, many appraisers are whining and complaining because they are being asked to do something different than what they've been doing. We still see appraisers that haven't taken the time to learn and understand using ANSI Z765-2021.

If you don't want to do 3.6 type reports, you don't have to.... you just won't be doing appraisals to be used in Fannie/Freddie loans.

Are you expecting appraisers to be doing backflips or acting with disinterest now that the GSEs have essentially told them:

"We will cut your pay in half for the same number of working hours, and that's ONLY IF you can figure out how to do it ... MUAHAHAHA!" ?

Please do report back to me about YOUR personal "Abominable" experience in a year or so. (I'll be reading it with interest from a Mediterranean beach, so I'll have no skin in the game, but I can still have empathy for my brethren who are gonna have to struggle through it.)

Pure genius Bucks, pure genius. And you're in good company, too.

You took my "UAD 3.6 Abomination" - which is on-point, but - kind of clunky - and *POOF* turned it into "Uniform Abomination Dataset" which is both clever and flows off the tongue.

Before you there was Elon.

For years I've been using the term "Brain Virus" to describe certain political and religious totalitarian ideologies - again, on-point, but clunky and erroneously implying a physical virus.

Then Elon comes along and *POOF* comes up with "Mind Virus", which is more accurate and easier to grasp. (Of course, he wasn't really riffing off me, he came up with it on his own, but ... you get the idea ...:ROFLMAO:)

"Great Minds Think Alike!" As Ian Hunter once said: "Alo! Welcome to The Club!":clapping:;)
If any royalties come my way, I'll graciously give you a generous 5% of my profit for inventing the term. :-) On the topic of a virus, I wonder if it would be a USPAP violation to ask Santa to implant a Stuxnet type virus in one of the UAD laptops when he visits the GSEs?
Include your social media handles for your next foreign travel as there is likely to be retaliation. :)

You know what, when we plug into that new "form" it will probably give is a social media score within seconds. I may change my posts and tune if they get it to actually function. :)
Better hit Fakebook and beg for votes like the rest of the inbuzz crowd!
I once had one of those Buzz recommended guys call and try to sell his CE course. He was odd, he acted like he was calling about industry issues, etc. then switched gears, he was very awkward about his CE course and weird. Buzz should send them to a Dale Carnegie Course before turning them loose on potential customers.

Right under Midwest Rodeo Champion 1975.

Should we start a petition to name you Valuation Visionary 2026? But you have to promise: If the REVAA crew buys you breakfast, have the sense to not post a photo to social media.
If I broke bread with that crowd I would insist on having a food taster and several reporters present so there would be no unpleasant surprises. :)

You seem to have misunderstood my point. If you don't want to do 3.6... don't. But please... stop complaining about it. It is going to be implemented no matter how much we whine.

It may help you to look at it from a slightly different angle. Perhaps those folks "complaining" are just going through the "Different Stages of Grief". Giving vent in an exchange with like-minded brethren also develops a sense of camaraderie that may be helpful at a VERY stressful time for many.

(If I wasn't in the position we are in - being able to *quite ecstatically* "Walk Away", I would be in stress overload contemplating this ... THING ... you have to remember that for most folks, not knowing is more stressful than actually dealing with something difficult. And right now the only thing out there is uncertainty - nothing to try your hand at, and rumors and ad spam flying in thick and furious from all points of the compass).

It’s been 39 days since the first UAD was created and “delivered”, there is a major difference between the former and the latter. There have been numerous software vendors, AMC team leaders and notary publics claiming to have created reports with the new UAD, but have they delivered any? Will there be a second report delivered before the big UAD logo is dropped in Times Square? Will there be a second report delivered before the end of this decade?

Accepting reality and being happy about it are two different things. A better attitude would be to refocus on anything that you do have some chance of changing. Maybe some on here don't like having their lifelong profession ripped out from under them, as has been occurring now for a few years.

And before anyone tells me "adapt or die"... I did, and I make more $ now, but I still didn't necessarily like it. If your cost of groceries went up 1% every week, without any increases in salary, you would start adjusting what you purchase for sure. But don't dare tell me you would be happy about it. And you might not even complain about any one specific 1% increase in price. But that's what death by a thousand paper cuts means...at some point the blood loss is real.
