The only way to provide electricity alone, as if no other problem exists, is going on a mass nuclear construction project and upgrading the grid. But "itty bitty" reactors means a small one at each substation and then you will need guards to keep the vandals out.

It is a long way off, 20-30+ years at the soonest. And these are all below ground in secure facilities, your average bob wouldn't have a chance getting into one.
