how about instead of climate crisis we have population crisis where there are more people living in areas that they shouldn't be, so we then see more damage. gee, we are in the instant info age. they didn't have that in the 1700's so how do you know it is worse now. the problem is the climate zeolots who pound their chest and scream danger, danger. but allow china & india to be burning more coal than before. never look behind the climate crisis curtain, you might see a dictator declare climate emergency. and bang, all your rights are gone. climate is like the sand on the beach, pick a spot and see some water puddle. start crying ocean rising. the rest of us are on dry sand.
There are two basic issues:
1. Whether there is, or is not, climate change. I believe there is, - and the evidence is undeniable. This is the first obstacle to get around.
2. What to do to reduce or mitigate climate change. I do not agree, for example, that out and out banning of gas vehicles and ranges, with replacement with battery and electrical alternatives is the way to go. ( My wife has Prius Hybrid and I have a 2020 Ford F-150 XLT. I don't drive my F-150 that much so don't feel to bad that it gets only 20-21 mpg on the freeway and 16-17 mpg around home. ) Also, all countries need to make economic efforts to mitigate climate change, not just the USA. The optimal solution has not been decided upon, much less agreed upon. I am inclined to believe the US should take advantage of its oil and shale reserves, to a lesser extent it coal reserves, - if doing so can be fit into some kind of optimal economic and climate change plan.
