Not unless you are broke or you need to cut costs-and unless you are used to to 5 months a year in massive heat and dust-you will hate it . Going from Washington State to that area is only based on economics-and if you are going broke go there otherwise run like hell :) LMAO

Not quite that negative on it myself, but it is hot in May-Sept usually unless you go north to the higher elevations. NM a little more temperate.

Too cool for this snowbird in the Winter and too hot, don't want to be a roasted bird.

OTOH, a cousin moved from Illinois, 20+ years ago and has done very well at Intel and via Real Estate investing.

Good luck.

And then, they are downwind from California. Just wait for the forest fires to experience the delight.

But al the states are messed up now. I can't think of one that compares to any 50 years ago.

The whole country is a mess.

Well, there is Texas, of course. But, I'd still much rather go back in time.

Well, that didn’t go as planned LOL. I love heat, hate rain, 8 months of clouds, rain and dampness isn’t fun. Can anyone speak to appraising in AZ? Lots of work?

Well, if you want to move to Arizona, why not just move to East Washington? That's pretty much the same thing, except a bit cooler and uglier [ wait a second, which is uglier East Washington or Arizona? Arizona does have its painted desert and East Washington has that area up by Northern Idaho. ... Except for the North East corner of Washington, East Washington is pretty damn ugly. ].

But the ugliest states in the US for 2021 are:

Lived in Eastern WA for 5 years, cooolld long winters. And NOTHING there. Arizona is much prettier.

I would imagine that if you are planning on going to the Phoenix area you should have no shortage of work in this market. Even better if you can take some clients with you who are willing to switch your region. If you don't have any such clients .. well I hope you have some savings to get you through the "beating the bushes" period.

If you can't make it in this market, though, you should probably find something else to do. ;)

Good luck.

I have been to AZ serveral times. I like that it is located 5-7 hours from many places like Vegas, San Diego/ocean etc. But my main question relates to appraising in AZ I can get opinions from various websites on AZ itself lol.
