Story quoted from Grassfire.org Alliance:

1.3 MILLION ILLEGAL ALIENS RETURNING TO MEXICO
(see details below)

8/25/2008

Fox News is reporting that streams of illegal immigrants are heading home to Mexico. In fact, the report said the exodus numbers are the highest they’ve been in decades!

So why are they leaving?

For years we’ve heard the excuses that our nation cannot possibly round up 13-20 million illegal aliens. For years we've answered their excuse saying "we don’t have to."

As this report suggests, if the Federal government enforces existing immigration laws by taking away jobs, housing, and social benefits illegal aliens will leave on their own.

So far this year 1.3 million have decided the grass is greener in their homeland. And since last August, the illegal immigrant population has dropped 11 percent!

Well, let's see, just from the Michigan perspective -

there is now an Electrolux refrigerator plant in Mexico

there are now several car plants in Mexico

What I'm wondering is why Americans are not leaving to go south?

I suspect that they are leaving because of the economy.

NO Trabajo. Plus the guys that are getting busted for hiring illegals are getting scared. As for a positive effect........not a chance. This is a bad sign. Lets see if Bubba or Homey want to work the night shift at the doughnut plant?

I suspect that they are leaving because of the economy.

That is exactly correct...lately I have seen many more illegal alien day laborers sitting at the known pick up spots late in the morning or in the middle of the day. In the past, most of these guys would have been picked up and taken to construction sites well before 7 am. With a large decrease in construction, most of these guys are simply no longer needed. After a long enough time without work, I am sure that many have decided or will decide to return home.

So why haven't I heard about this exodus on the national news stations lately? 1.3 million illegals gone. By conservative estimates, that's 10% of the illegal population in the country. It has taken decades for our amigos to get here. Over a million returning in less than a year, that story is huge!

Will this have an effect on our economy? I think so. With them gone, it is likely to save taxpayers billions of dollars in government assistance (less Medicare, Medicaid, AFDC, education, fire/police protection, etc.).

If the economy stays on its current downward spiral, the Mexicans might build a fence to keep the Americans from invading their country looking for jobs.

In today's USA Today ICE raided a plant somewhere and they have 350 illegals out of one manufacturing plant. The total amount of illegals was not known as of the publishing time of the newspaper.....that plant owner needs to be in jail as well as those that "employed" the 350+ illegals.

The investigation started from a complaint filed by a union worker at the plant.

Let me give you the Paul Harvey rest of the story. 1.3 left, a few more million came, now you know the rest of the story.
