The vast infiltration of illegals helped create the housing bubble increasing the demand for housing, some of the hardest hit areas in this region are those areas where the illegals are no longer present. They helped the bubble grow larger during the good times and now are helping the crash grow deeper as they hit the road. Still trying to figure out how someone in the country illegally could qualify for a mortgage.

I asked the question earlier about who e-ape's and LSI's largest clients are? BOA from what I understand, the folks that were pushing credit cards for illegals. Follow the money.

Maybe the AMC's can start hiring illegals to do the appraisals for $50. Wait ...this could work. Do you think George Vann would go for this? I think he would.

In today's USA Today ICE raided a plant somewhere and they have 350 illegals out of one manufacturing plant. The total amount of illegals was not known as of the publishing time of the newspaper.....that plant owner needs to be in jail as well as those that "employed" the 350+ illegals.

The investigation started from a complaint filed by a union worker at the plant.

Agreed..............if ICE would go around and start throwing employers in jail and fining companies $5000 per illegal worker, the problem would go away. The dirty little secret in the whole mortgage meltdown is millions of loans have been made to illegal aliens under TIN's or Fradulent SSN's. These people are not able to qualify under new FHA guidelines and the jobs are going away. The states hardest hit by the subprime meltdown just happen to be some of the states with the highest concentration of illegal aliens. Sorry it's not PC, but the data is showing this trend......................cheap labor is not cheap.

Well, let's see, just from the Michigan perspective -

there is now an Electrolux refrigerator plant in Mexico

there are now several car plants in Mexico

What I'm wondering is why Americans are not leaving to go south?

I know of some Americans who have... but they no longer have a need to work. $50,000 buys a nice ocean front home, and you can live on less than $15,000/year.
