This Won't end Well for Germany

Were I Vladimir, I'd take every advantage I could of the vacillation and ineptitude emanating from the White House at present.
Biden has a great reputation across the world because people know he can be bribed and go against the interests of his constituents.

All of this shrieking about Ukraine reminds me of when everyone's head exploded when Trump ordered the missile strike on general Soleimani and everyone thought we were going to war with Iran.

You don't see a problem with the US paying to protect Germany from Russia while Germany is choosing to purchase from Russia.
I absolutely see a security risk with European dependence on Russian gas and we are seeing it play out in real time right now. That pipeline was a terrible decision however much of Europe depends on Russian gas regardless. America sent pretty strong signals that we were done pretending to defend the Europeans and I don't blame them for seeking accommodations to be able to heat their homes in the winter. At one point I think Germany had 300 tanks to match up against thousands of Russian tanks and although that German Adm. should've kept his mouth shut he's right about their predicament. It would be an entirely different situation if Germany and France were putting troops on standby in solidarity.

They are dependent on Russia for energy supplies and they are doubtful of US commitment to their security. And they are woefully unarmed.
I don't believe we wrote their budgets for them, I'd guess because they thought someone bail them out if there was trouble. But a little over 2 years ago, my tax dollars hielped pay for this from NPR:

I don't think we've "abandoned" NATO, but we've told Vlad that we didn't think there was much we could do if he invaded UKraine.

Its ok Biden will send them a bunch of cash, but don't worry it won't cost anything and no inflation.

I don't miss him one bit. Said so as soon as the shrieking started. My head didn't explode until January 6.

"That pipeline was a terrible decision - as were virtually all of biden's actions with our pipeline(s), leases, extraction technology, and on and on and on.

Trump Obama divided us from within and he did it within a span of four years. An amazing accomplishment. There. Fixed it for you. :giggle:
Obama divided us from within by passing health care reform legislation?

What a crime, he said he wanted peaceful relations with the U.S. Give me a break.

OMG Mike, he is not threatening our NATO allies. Why are you going berserk about this? In this thread previously I said if he started threatening our allies or tried to make a move on Poland or something (which is ridiculous) that would be an entirely different situation. Ukraine is not our ally, although I'm sure Hunter and the President have interests there.
Does it worry anybody here that Putin is doing this for domestic political purposes? And as his certain victory is celebrated and has popularity goes up does anybody here think he will be content with Ukraine? He wants the Soviet empire back. A unified response from the West now could stop this soon to be genocide from happening.
