Trashing the reputations of her sexual predator husband's victims permanently excludes her from the "nice person category" in my opinion. I remember her griping after he left office, we are broke! We have children to put through college! I'd say they did quite nicely for themselves for people who have been on the government payroll their whole lives. And weapons to defend themselves from our mutual adversary. What are we going to do when he comes for Poland? Let him make a deal with Germany to split it up? Redrawing international borders is a messy business that generally involves genocide. Especially in eastern Europe. From watching DW German news this evening it appears that they might agree with you however and without Germany committed to Europe's defense we might as well bring all of our troops home from the European theater. France has not been particularly cooperative either with the pundits saying Europe is just too dependent on Russian energy supplies to put up much of a fuss if they can get by without doing so. The EU doesn't trust the US to negotiate with the Russians over the future of Europe either. It's going to be remarkable to see Putin absolutely bluff the United States out of Europe but it looks like he might just pull it off.

Poland hasn't fared very well in its relationships with its nearest neighbors , England and the US. Its western portion was essentially abandoned to/annexed by the Germans in 1938 as neither France nor England would honor treaty agreements of mutual aid and military support. (The Soviet Union got the rest). It was entierly abandoned to the Soviets at the end of WWII as they (the Soviets) delayed continuing their push against the Germans whlle the Germans completed their destruction of Warsaw and what little resistance the Poles had show there. The Soviet military occupied Poland until 1993.

Obama thought he needed to look tough on Russia because he was pretty sure that was the way to gain Republican votes. It turns out that was a major "misreading of the tea leaves" on his part and that Republicans actually admire the "strength" of dictators. I don't recall Obama drawing moral equivalencies between American and Russian leadership the way Trump did and I don't recall Russian trolls flooding the Internet with fake news designed to help Obama's election campaign either. I certainly don't believe you can draw a valid moral equivalency between the way Trump and Obama administrations handled our nation's relationship with Russia.

Your war mongering against Russia is a result of being upset about Russian "interference" in the 2016 election and your hatred for Trump and his perceived coziness with Putin. I don't get it Mike-you accuse anyone who doesn't want W.W. III as a Putin sycophant or dictator-lover. There might be a few that like him, but no one is happy he is threatening Ukraine or thinks he should invade. He's a murderous scumbag. That doesn't mean we should go to war over it. How does that meet our national security needs or meet our national interests? Do you know that there are parts of eastern Ukraine that would rather be a part of Russia? Or that there are many NATO nations that don't want Ukraine to become a member and that they have never come close to meeting the requirements of membership? A. He will not invade the entirety of Ukraine. B. More likely, he is trying to extract concessions from the West. C. If there is an invasion, it will be in areas of extreme eastern Ukraine in an attempt to incorporate those culturally Russian areas into Russia. Is it a good thing? No. Worth going to war over? No!

Another 'a ha' moment!
