This year better for appraising

I'm on track to have a similar year as last year, maybe slightly better, but have been working too hard. There is more competition in this area now and more people are calling around for the cheapest quotes. Considering that the new competition is mostly trainees or inexperienced CGs, I'm losing out on quite a few bids, but I'm fine with that. Still, are appraisals the only service in this country that has not increased in price after COVID?

McDonalds and Dominos prices are still pretty cheap.

I remember someone posting a receipt online last year for their McDonald's meal at $17 and everyone was making a big deal about it. It doesn't seem THAT long ago that McDonalds had value meals for $1.99 -$2.99.

The link above suggests that McDonalds prices increased by about 20% from 2020 - 2024, and I'd venture that they've gone up since 2024 also.

That can't be. Everyone's losing jobs, inflation is running rampant, housing market is set to collapse, and the sun is going to rise in the west and its all Trump's fault. Or maybe not.

Glad to hear you're doing well thanks to President Trump. Have you sent him a thank you card yet?

The housing market might be solid in Indiana but that may not be the case in a lot of markets.

Even in my area, the market is pretty solid at the metro area level, but there are neighborhoods and segments that look like they might be taking a big leg down soon.

All the weakness is in the city. Northern Virginia very solid.

I have never seen $1.99 value meals. The lowest I remember is $2.99 and then they started coming out with the super size. That was when I was in elementary school so like 35 years ago.

McDonalds raised the menu prices but it is about the same as before the pandemic if you order on the app. It's like $7 for Big Mac meal or QPC meal on the app but $11 in the regular menu.

You might be right on McDonalds - couldn't find that online. I remember you could manage at Taco Bell for $2 in the 90s.

I think it was like 39 cents for a taco and 49 cents for a taco supreme.

I cloned this report in similar location and type of property and I noticed my current fee is 38% higher than 8 years ago.
I don't know if that's good or bad but at least it's higher.

better than last year the VA is cranking too private work much better it was zero before the beginning of the year
