Todays Bombshell Executive Order Ends Traditional Appraisals.

I said "in the field", not interior time. Most 1004 residential assignments require the appraiser to observe the interior, the exterior and the site.

The amount of misinformation coming from the 3.6 pushers and their AMC partners is staggering. It's become a carnival card trick.
I know you said "in the field" but the increased data being collected in the UAD is mostly limited to the interior of the subject. Appraisers won't be doing the same with any of their comps. That's why I said it that way.

Gen Z will love the desktop work but they won't tolerate low fee's below is what AI said below

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gen Z is unlikely to tolerate the AMC “fast and cheap” model because it clashes directly with their core values around fair compensation, autonomy, and meaningful work. They’re a generation that refuses to be underpaid for high‑responsibility tasks, and they see low fees paired with intense turnaround pressure as a sign that an industry undervalues its professionals. With so many alternative career paths offering better pay, flexibility, and respect for expertise, Gen Z won’t enter or stay in a field where technology is used to demand more output without increasing compensation. Unless the appraisal industry shifts away from the race‑to‑the‑bottom fee structure and toward a model that rewards skill and efficiency, it will struggle to attract the tech‑savvy, independent workers it needs to replace its aging workforce.

I think the only thing we can be certain about is that we really don't have any clue what the agenda is. They squeal when someone guesses wrong, but they won't provide any information. Lying by omission is no more noble than lying in every other way.

The main reason I can think of for needing wifi would be if it was a cloud application, not a freestanding app (or an inspection-only component) on your device.
That's the whole idea of the uad 3.6. It's a dynamic, digital reporting system. It's not a static form. If one is going to use a tablet during inspection, they're going to need to have a data plan to be connected to the internet. That is, unless they make a static inspection form that blows the information into the 3.6. From what I hear tell, the 3.6 doesn't create templates well so that doesn't sound promising.

You're probably right about incurring the costs of an additional dataplan.
Whatever the 1.0 versions look like, the later generations will probably be more functional and less cumbersome.

Here is a webinar with three appraisers and two software companies. Anyone who wishes to hear what those three appraisers (including the one who did the first one) say about inspection time is free to listen (or not).

I highly doubt that most of the software "systems" will require online access during inspections. That is why there are inspection apps being developed.

TTerry said that is why there are inspection apps being developed?

Interesting It seems someone didn't think about it We do have 5G but it is not everywhere,

OK but I am a dummy and a total user from way back I just used a paper iinspection
