UAD TIPS for working appraisers !

I use Alamode so can not comment on Bradford- why are they making you nervous? Are they doing okay with adding UAD 3.6 to their list of products?
It seems easier for us to stay with the software we know unless they are behind schedule or for another reason.
J.G., seems that a decision must be made about whether one 3.6 topics will be successful, or whether each software provider requires a distinct 3.6 thread...althogh lots of users are deciding which provider to use and need a way to "measure" one versus the others, with T4V's long term affiliation being an underlyng factor for many of us...

I started my first UAD3.6 template ( to use as my first mock report ) in Total Alamode, and it is not that difficult. I would be lost without the training video that I watched, and have a few questions which I will resolve via their tech support, but it integrates with my signature and other functions stored from 2.6

My advice, as a low-tech person who is interested in getting reports out to clients, is that if one uses existing software they paid for, to learn and do their first UAD 3.6 reports within that software - ( assuming a reputable company has developed it and offers training/ videos and tech support. )- One can switch later after learning UAD 3.6 and trying a software you like better.

Imo, learning a new software and trying UAD3.6 for the first time would be a double learning curve. And no matter what a company promises, the UAD 3.6 drop-down fields will be the same across software platforms because UAD 3.6 is from the GSE, not an individual software provider. Some might come out of the box integrated with AI. Since I am unfamiliar with that, I will not comment or recommend. I would assume most software can adapt to an add-on AI or data fill program- Ask your provider, of course.

Seems less overwhelming to me to learn UAD 3.6 on a current system, and later experiment with other software options.

So as d. Wiley suggested, I did use a completed 2.6 report of mine to work on a run through yesterday in 3.6. It did take pretty much the whole day with a few walkaways for sanity's sake, but I got to the end of it...I'm on ACI... I think you're on total. Do they have the ability to do the sketches within 3.6 and also have it create a location map and figure out the proximity of your comps? For long-term investors. Also, I was able to sign the report with a digital signature but it's not mine. Do you know if a digital facsimile of our actual signature will be needed for reports? Thanks!

I have Wintotal (alamode). I made my first sample sketch within UAd 3.6. Had to click the sketch button than one more field. But it saved the sketch and there it was in the report. I was also able to sign the report with my signature. Thankfully, it worked.
. I have not tried to create a location map yet. That will be next! I launched it as a new UAD3.6 instead of trying to start with 2.6
I am saving quick list comments as I go. Only got to finish 3 pages and quitting for the day to enjoy other things but will play with it again tommorow.

J.G., do your 2.6 templates carry over to 3.6? And I'm low tech like you. Do u know about RAM memory needs?

I use Bradford (Clickforms). Used them for 34 years and at the point of, “teaching old dogs new tricks”. Don’t want to leave them but they are making me nervous and have to renew in July. What say you?
Are you on their beta list. Nighthawk has been released. Free to current users through 2026

I can not advise anything about RAM.

I do not believe a 2.6 template would carry over to 3.6 . Thus I am making my first template in 3.6 and will save it. Next I have to learn how to merge a new file into the template.

At first, I could not even open a report in 3.6 - then, DOH, I saw that total when opening new assignment has two checkbox options - 2.6 on the left, 3.6 on the right. I clicked the 3.6 box and it opened it in 3.6

The other thing I thought I saw in the SCA were fields for volume of the residence and comps and window area for subject and comps...surely that cannot be a requirement(?)

I believe those fields are optional, but don't quote me on it...just what I gleaned from watching the training video. Monday, I am signed up for the Freddie webinar 1 hour (or is it Fannie? ). Hard to keep it all straight. TMI

I don't believe you can option clone a report. What i did was, started to, a template called zzz, or whatever. Then you open it and save it to a new file number. My big urban is nothing but cloning row homes. I read that window areas are for manufactured homes only, but the lender can ask for that on any house. Now we will have a 100 page scope of work pdf to read with each different lender.
