i no longer go down long rural driveways. sick of explaining myself only to be met with (sometimes) a hard time. screw that, take pic of wall of woods and use an MLS pic.

Where's your sense of adventure? And you mean you don't have a drone? :rof: I let my red headed assistant drive down while I hunkered behind the seat ... No one shoots a red head because if you only wound them, then you're going to die. Don't mess with red headed women.

I never did. It's called trespassing. Also don't go down private roads. Police don't care if your client requires original photos.

"Due to a visual obstruction from the public right of way, the photo for comparable sale #X was utilized from Multiple Listing Service. An original photo of the obstructed view has been retained in the appraisal workfile and available on request."

i hear ya but back in olden times we had no MLS pic so every home must be shot no matter what. kind of got used to saying your spiel to unsuspecting owners but now we have MLS pics so i no longer engage. like your comment btw.

Why not include both?

I literally just got back from taking comp pics. About an hr ago I was stopped by a "tough guy" in a "muscle car" questioning why I was taking pics of his house - he said his kid saw me and so he jumped in his car.

I told him I was an appraiser and said "you bought your house within the past 6 months" he said yes. I handed him my card and he all of a sudden turned into a teddy bear. I always hate when this happens, but thankfully (knock on wood) generally this is all that happens, they back down and I go on to the next pic
